These opportunities are for lawyer recommended community service only.

Please note- Nonprofit organizations need time to plan for Community Service volunteers.
If you wait until the last minute, you may not be able to complete your hours. Also, if you sign up to volunteer, that organization is counting on you to show up.

HORSEPOWER

HORSEPOWER is a therapeutic Learning Center non-profit organization serving the Piedmont Triad community since 1995 and affiliated with the Piedmont Saddle Club since 1998. They are a premier PATH International center and provide therapeutic equine activities for over 300 individuals with disabilities each year.

One Step Further

One Step Further needs help with janitorial work/office cleaning, answering the phone and grocery assistance (loading, unloading, packing,etc.)  Please contact Susan Ayers by emailing [email protected] or calling 336-275-3699 to set up an interview.

The Community Support and Nutrition Program needs volunteers to help in the food pantry.  Duties include: loading and unloading, sorting food donations, packing boxes, etc.  To help out, please contact Susan Cox at [email protected] 

City of Greensboro

Community Service hours can be earned at various locations which will be determined by the Volunteer Coordinator. Hours and availability may vary given particular needs. Community Service volunteers must complete a Volunteer Enrollment form and provide documentation of the number of hours and type of offense committed before receiving placement for volunteering. The City of Greensboro does not accept volunteers who have been convicted of, pled guilty or no contest to all sexual offenses and violent felonies (regardless of the amount of time since offense). Tiny House Community Development

Duties include: cleaning the warehouse and office, helping builders with building chicken coops and storage buildings.

Triad Goodwill

Retail Store Volunteers: Triad Goodwill’s Mission is to Improve Lives and Enrich Communities Through the Power of Work. Volunteers are always needed in our 23 Retail Stores Monday-Friday between 10am and 7pm, Saturdays between 10am and 7pm and on Sundays between 1pm and 6pm.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting donation attendants with accepting, handling, and sorting donations
  • Hanging and sorting garments
  • Inspecting and merchandising housewares
  • Cleaning and sanitizing carts and baskets
