Alamance County Human Race Postponed till Fall 2024

The Human Race is a 5K where participants walk, run, or roll to support their favorite local nonprofit.

Since 1994, The Volunteer Center of the Triad has been managing this community fundraising event in Greensboro, helping raise over 5.3 million for local nonprofits. Many of our nonprofit partners tell us this in their largest fundraiser of the year, and they do not have the capacity to mount an event like this without our help. We take care of all the event details so the nonprofits can focus on fundraising!

• What is the human race?

  • The Human Race is a community 5k fun run, walk, or roll to raise thousands of dollars for Alamance County nonprofits. Nonprofits register online and individuals, businesses and organizations sign up to raise money and run!

• Who participates in The Human Race?
  • Anyone can sign up and join a team or create a team and start raising money for their favorite nonprofit.

• How does the nonprofit earn money?
  • When you sign up for The Human Race, you'll select the nonprofit of your choice. Then ask friends, family, coworkers - everyone, to support you in The Human Race. Donations made online go directly to the nonprofit you selected so they can begin using the money immediately.

• What's so special about The Human Race?
  • The Volunteer Center has been hosting The Human Race for 29 years. This event helps nonprofits who do not have the capacity to host an event this large raise much needed funds for their missions. For many nonprofits, this is their only fundraising event of the year. Since 1994, The Volunteer Center has helped raise over $5.3 million for nonprofits in Guilford County. This year, we are proud to bring The Human Race to Alamance County, too.
