Court-Related Community Service Opportunities

By The Volunteer Center

These opportunities are for lawyer recommended community service only.

If a judge has ordered you to complete community service, you must go through the court system. Just ask your attorney if you aren't sure, or call 336-334-4019 for the Guilford County Community Service office.

Please note- Nonprofit organizations need time to plan for Community Service volunteers.

If you wait until the last minute, you may not be able to complete your hours. Also, if you sign up to volunteer, that organization is counting on you to show up.

HORSEPOWER

HORSEPOWER is a therapeutic Learning Center non-profit organization serving the Piedmont Triad community since 1995 and affiliated with the Piedmont Saddle Club since 1998. They are a premier PATH International center and provide therapeutic equine activities for over 300 individuals with disabilities each year.

City of Greensboro

Community Service hours can be earned at various locations which will be determined by the Volunteer Coordinator. Hours and availability may vary given particular needs. Community Service volunteers must complete a Volunteer Enrollment form and provide documentation of the number of hours and type of offense committed before receiving placement for volunteering. The City of Greensboro does not accept volunteers who have been convicted of, pled guilty or no contest to all sexual offenses and violent felonies (regardless of the amount of time since offense). Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator office at 336-373-7507 for additional information.
